This year’s ride also doubles as a Snowarama Fundraiser! For over 45 years, Snowarama has been the BC Snowmobile Federation’s charity of choice. • Trail Ride: Collect your cards and build your best hand on the trail.

  • Return to Cabin: All participants back to the Rolling Hills Cabin by 2 pm.

  • Show & Shine + BBQ Social: 2–3 pm at the cabin, complete with food, fun, and vintage sled admiration.

  • Winners Announced: Poker & Show & Shine winners at 3:00 pm.

🎁 Every poker hand purchase includes a FREE BBQ lunch and the chance to win great prizes from event partner Basecamp Motorsports for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place… plus more!

Not into poker? No problem — you can still join the fun. For just $10, enjoy our hot lunch and cheer on the riders.

CONDITIONS:

This morning temperatures are -1°C at cabin elevation with light winds. 10cm amounts of new snow overnight. 15cm new snow in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights are around 205cm.

Note: Fernie has had a mixed bag of weather over the last 2-3 weeks. Rider can generally expect low snow at all valley bottom trails (lowest elevation), that January surface crust across most riding areas, now under a new 15cm of snow from this recent storm. All trails above 1540m are in good winter condition.

Today: Cloudy with occasional snow. Snow level rising to between 1400 & 1600 metres.  Light accumulation, possible 4 to 8 cm. Slight chance of freezing rain during the morning.  Windy at times. High near 1.

Tonight: Occasional snow and possible snow showers during the evening, easing off overnight.  Snow level trending lower. Light accumulation, possible 3 to 8 cm.  Windy at times.  Low -1 or -2.

GROOMING:

Corbin: Groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie Jan 23.

Coal Creek: Variable conditions on lower trail up to about 1540m (Paige’s Draw) - few spots with open water or ice in lower sections (image below show the worst sections of trail approx 2-4km up from staging area). Coal Creek and Matheson groomed last night.

Morrissey: Staging area to 1540m (graffiti rock) has variable conditions. Morrissey groomed last night.

Hartley: Trail last groomed Jan 10th - note there has been considerable challenges this year with blowdown and windfall from timber harvesting activities and storms. It seems each week, when we go out to groom, there are a significant number of new trees down. The FSA has invested more than 100hours at this point clearing trees from the trail since mid-December. We are anticipating being able to groom from the staging area to the East Fork of the Sulphur this week after a final push late last week to remove the last of the trees blocking and overhanging the trail.

Ram: Open. No grooming.

CONDITIONS:

This morning temperatures are -9.4°C at cabin elevation with calm winds. 0cm amounts of new snow overnight. 0cm in the past 7 days. Total snowpack heights are around 201cm.

Note: Earlier last week we had moist snow up to cabin elevation. Temps have returned to hard refreeze overnight which has left a crust in most riding areas. The grooming is mint right now but it’s ‘scratchers down’ kind of conditions out there friends! Get out there and enjoy the sunshine!

Today: Possible low cloud and fog patches, otherwise sunny with a few bands of cloud.  High -7 or -8.

Tonight: Cloudy.  Clear with cloudy periods, possible low cloud and fog patches overnight.  Low -14 or -15.

GROOMING:

Corbin: Groomed from the staging area to the McClatchie Dec 17.

Coal Creek: Variable conditions on lower trail up to about 1540m (Paige’s Draw) - few spots with open water in lower sections. Coal Creek, Doug Dean, Summit Trail groomed last night. Matheson groomed Dec 18. Martin groomed Dec 16.

Morrissey: Staging area to 1540m (graffiti rock) has variable conditions. Morrissey and the Notch groomed last night. McEvoy and North Pipeline groomed Dec 21.

Hartley: Trail last groomed Dec 10th - note there has been considerable challenges this year with blowdown and windfall from timber harvesting activities and storms. It seems each week, when we go out to groom, there are a significant number of new trees down. The FSA has invested more than 100hours at this point clearing trees from the trail since mid-December. We are continuing to work through this challenge but grooming and conditions and frequency are variable as a result.

Ram: Open. No grooming.
